Retinol, is much different than Retin-A ( often found in pharmaceuticals ) for the use of acne creams and fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinol, which can be safely used in concentrations up to 2.5%, Retinol is found in many products that don’t require a prescription. Retinols are much weaker than prescription retinoids.
Unless vitamin A is listed as one of the top five ingredients and the product is packaged in an airtight opaque bottle, what you’re getting might not be all that effective. ( Note that this product has special packaging which has an airtight pumping lid and opaque top) Neither retinoids nor retinols should be used by breastfeeding or pregnant women.
Both are retinoids.
They’re both made from vitamin A and promote faster skin cell turnover. And they’re some of the most proven, effective, and powerful options for treating skin issues ranging from acne to signs of aging.
Retinoids come in prescription form and in a range of over-the-counter products. Prescription-level retinoids fall into these groups:
•Tretinoin, including the brands Atralin, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, and Renova
•Tazarotene, such as the brand Tazorac
• Adapalene, such as the brand Deffective
While I typically use Retin-A for my Acne prone skin, I also have very sensitive skin and using Retin-A causes my skin to crack, split, and flake after just several uses. This appears to be a much more effective method for treating the same type of skin problems, and is also considerably healthier, and much more cost effective.
This cream goes a VERY long way. I only use about a 1/4 pump to cover my entire face! A full pump could easily cover your face, neck, and chest! I am actually thinking about starting to do this because my neck and chest could use a little extra love too.
I’m a that age where faint lines start appearing, so better to be proactive! 😉 While I have not had a hands down miracle happen in just two weeks I HAVE noticed a more even and brighter complexion, slightly fainter lines, and my skin is SO soft. This makes your skin feel velvety smooth.
